Parish Life Ministry At St. Mark Catholic Church, the Parish Life Office walks alongside individuals and families during life’s most significant moments—times of great joy, commitment, and sorrow. Rooted in faith and guided by compassion, we are here to support you through the sacraments and beyond, helping you experience a deeper encounter with Christ and a stronger connection to our parish community.
Baptism Preparation
We offer monthly baptismal preparation classes for parents and godparents who wish to celebrate the sacrament of Baptism at St. Mark. These sessions provide essential catechesis and guidance to help families understand the sacred meaning of Baptism and prepare to raise their children in the Catholic faith. Group baptisms for infants and young children (under the age of seven) take place on Saturdays at 10:00am in English or Spanish. For additional information, visit our website at www.stmarkplano.org/baptism. Please contact Maria Ojeda at 972-423-5600, ext. 244 or by email at [email protected].
Marriage Preparation
We accompany couples on their journey toward the sacrament of Marriage by providing personalized support throughout the preparation process. This includes help with completing prenuptial paperwork, gathering necessary documentation, and participating in marriage formation programs such as marriage preparation classes, Natural Family Planning (NFP), and the FOCCUS/REFOCCUS relationship assessments.
Please contact the Parish Life office at least 6-9 months in advance of the preferred wedding date. If you have any questions, please contact our Coordinator of Marriage Ministry at [email protected] or by phone at 972-423-5600, ext. 235.
Annulments
To begin the annulment process, please contact Parish Life at 972-423-5600 or by email at [email protected].
Funeral Support and Planning
We know planning a funeral can be a bit overwhelming especially during a period of grief. If you have any questions about what we offer here at St. Mark or if you would like to talk with us, please fill out the contact form online at www.stmarkplano.org/funerals or call Maria Ojeda at 972-423-5600, ext. 244 or by email at [email protected].
Grief Support
We extend Christ’s compassion to those mourning the loss of a loved one through two meaningful ministries:
Faith & Grief: A monthly gathering held on the first Wednesday of each month from 12:00–1:00 pm in McGivney Hall. We share a light lunch, reflect on Scripture, and support one another through faith. Donations are welcomed to help cover the cost of the meal.
New Day Grief Support: A 9-week seasonal program offered in the spring and fall. This guided series helps participants navigate the journey of grief in a supportive and faith-filled environment.
Red Bird Ministries: We are a Red Bird Ministries Chapter Parish. Red Bird Ministries offer support to families who have experienced the loss of a child through their app or by phone. To speak to our chapter representative, Liz Ziske, she can be contacted at [email protected] or by phone at (214) 455-5578.
Quinceaneras
The quinceañera is a traditional celebration of life and gratitude to God on the occasion of the fifteenth birthday of a young Hispanic woman. The ritual emphasizes her passage from childhood to adulthood. The family usually requests a Mass or a blessing to be held in the Church. The young woman seeking her quinceanera must have already received the Sacraments of Baptism, First Holy Communion and Confirmation, or she must be in her second year of preparation for Confirmation prior to scheduling an appointment through the Parish Life Office. A one-day retreat will be required for the young woman and her mother (or another adult family member), which will held in the spring and fall. Please contact our Coordinator of Marriage Ministry and Quinceaneras at 972-423-5600, ext. 235 or by email at [email protected].
