A Christ-centered character and leadership development program for girls 5 to 18 years of age. AHG is dedicated to the mission of building women of integrity through the service to God, family, community, and country.

American Heritage Girls is a nonprofit organization that provides fun, wholesome activities for girls 5-18 years of age.  AHG’s family-friendly, multi-level Troop structure is specifically created with the physical, mental, social, spiritual, and emotional needs of today’s girls. This family-friendly model allows sisters and a trusted adult to be in the same Troop, attending meetings at the same time and place, yet having some time in their separate age-level units. Under the guidance of dedicated leaders, AHG Troops participate in forward-focused programming that emphasizes six key components to achieve the mission of building women of integrity.  Girls who participate in the program are empowered to cultivate a heart for service, live in their faith, enjoy outdoor adventure, build lifelong friendships, and foster leadership development.

Boy Scout Troop 285 is for young men ages 11 to 18 (grades 6 to 12) and is a boy-led program emphasizing outdoor skills, citizenship and group leadership, organized by patrol. Their motto is “Be Prepared” and they progress through the ranks at their own pace by earning merit badges, mastering life skills and taking increasingly challenging leadership roles. Weekly troop meetings and monthly campouts allow them to practice new skills and test their limits as they strive toward the rank of Eagle.

Cub Scouts is an organization for boys in 1 st through 5 th grades. The scouting program emphasizes the principles of character development, spiritual growth, good citizenship, sportsmanship, family understanding, respectful relationships, personal achievement, friendly service, fun, and adventure.

Pack 285 is a small but active pack…We have campouts at least twice a year and many other sponsored activities throughout the year and even over the summer. The entire pack meets on a monthly basis and each den (grade level) meets a few times a month. .

The advancement trail starts with earning the Bobcat badge, followed by the ranks of Tiger, Wolf, Bear, Webelos, and the Arrow of Light. Each year builds upon the last, but boys can join at any time during elementary school or the school year and still achieve their rank in the Spring. As the Cub Scouts program moves forward, each step prepares the individual for Boy Scouts and continuing their scouting adventure. We encourage the boys to live by the scout law in all aspects of their life and to have a lot of fun in the process

The Roman Catholic Church has issued the call to the New Evangelization. Pope John Paul II desired “to undertake the Church’s evangelizing mission with renewed enthusiasm.” Pope Benedict XVI stressed its new character, given the social and cultural changes in the world today and the widespread de-Christianization of baptized Christians. The Church looks “to devise new tools and new expressions to ensure that the word of faith .... be heard more and be better understood, even in the new deserts of this world.”

The secularized Western world is such a desert. All the nations of the world are under threat by this continuing desertification.

While there can be various ways of responding to the call, one particular response is the Live Christ, Share Christ (LCSC) Movement. A particular methodology of LCSC is a program called the Life in Christ Seminar (LCS). It is intended for Catholics to meet Christ, to live Christ and to share Christ. It is designed for rapid and massive evangelization, accompanied by the systematic empowerment of laypeople to participate in the work, based in St. Mark the Evangelist parish, Plano and in other parishes around the world. 

It is hoped that through the Live Christ, Share Christ (LCSC) movement, the Church will be able to mainstream Catholic lay evangelization, that will work for renewal and revival in the Catholic Church.

The LCSC movement meets every 2nd and 4th Saturdays at Smyth bldg,, Community Center Room 101 from 9am-11am.

Plano Area Roman Catholic Homeschoolers (PARCH) is a homeschooling support group, and an official Parish organization of St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church. Organized for purpose of facilitating information and support for Catholic homeschooling families, PARCH sponsors a yahoo group, support meetings, curriculum informational sessions and homeschooling workshops, field trips, park days, and daily Mass attendance, along with seasonal activities and celebrations for Catholic homeschooling families. While PARCH provides access to myriad information, and events, its greatest service to others is in the sharing of wisdom and in the gift of friendships. Opportunities for Community Service abound within PARCH as our homeschooling families help organize and volunteer for St. Mark Parish activities/events and others throughout the calendar year.

The North Central Dallas Serra Club and Serra International’s mission is to promote and support vocations of Seminarians, Priests and vowed religious life in the Catholic Church. We meet once a month on the 3rd Monday evening of each month at Canyon Creek Country Club to listen to dynamic speakers from the Dallas area and enjoy dinner together. Members are also invited to attend the 6:30 am Mass on the First Friday of each month and breakfast afterwards at St. Mark. Several times a year we are invited to attend Mass at Holy Trinity Seminary in Irving where we each take donuts or pastries to share with the seminarians after Mass. It is wonderful to offer support and get to know the future priests for the Dallas Diocese.

The Troops of Saint George is a Catholic father-and-son group. It holds troop meetings working on spiritual, physical, patriotic, family and manly skills. There are campouts available monthly as an opportunity to spend quality time with your son and the other families in the troop. If you are looking for a brotherhood of fathers and sons in which to learn, live, teach and experience the Catholic faith in all its fullness, while enjoying the outdoors come join us! We look forward to praying the rosary around the campfire with you. Catholic author and Professor Dr. Taylor Marshall founded the Troops of Saint George (TSG) in 2013. It is the only apostolate of its kind for fathers and sons with a mission to create Catholic gentlemen and teach and exercise heroic virtue.

TSG Troop 77, The Magnanimus 77th, began July 1st, 2013. Several Catholic families in Collin County founded Troop 77 in the summer of 2013. The first two years they met at the home of a St. Mark parishioner. In the fall of 2015, Fr. Cliff and the St. Mark community gave TSG Troop 77 a parish home. The troop has approximately 75 members comprised of boys age 6 and up, and their fathers. In the Magnanimous 77th, we go hard to go home to heaven! We view the sacraments as our path to light the way for the formation of holy Catholic men and boys.
